Mercedes-Benz has released a teaser sketch of the upcoming C-Class Cabriolet. This open-top vehicle will mark its premiere at the Geneva Motor show soon.
The car has not been revealed completely yet, but the spy shots seen earlier have given us an idea of how the car is going to be. And no brownie points for guessing as Mercedes-Benz has simply taken the coupe version of the C-Class and removed the roof for the open-top version. This metal part is now replaced by a retractable fabric roof in different colour options. The blue C 450 AMG will sport a black top while the black C 450 and the lower-spec vehicle will be equipped with a bright red roof.
The carmaker will continue to employ the four- and six-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesel engines from the regular C-Class. There will be a 476bhp 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 mill under the hood of the C63 AMG and the 362bhp 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 mill will do the duty for the mid-level C 450 AMG. Mercedes-Benz might also offer a C 350 e plug-in hybrid featuring a 4Matic all-wheel-drive option.
All the details of the drop-top C-Class will be available next month with the debut of the convertible at the Geneva Motor show. The car is expected to reach US dealerships following its launch. Knowing Mercedes' plan for the Indian market that includes the addition of many new cars this year and the introduction of this Cabriolet to its Indian line-up by the end of this year wouldn't come as a surprise.
