The Mercedes-Benz C-Class Cabrio has been spotted testing in Europe. It is expected to be the fourth such body style for the new Benz after the sedan, estate and the coupe of which the last one is expected to be launched in mid 2015. However, reports suggest that the coupe has never been spotted in action leading us to believe that the cabriolet might actually arrive before the coupe.
The car is expected to have all the basic design elements from the 2015 C-Class which means that it will look like a scaled down convertible version of the S-Class coupe. It is expected to get the same interior as the standard car but with the obvious changes to it being a convertible.
On the engine front, we expect that C-Class Coupe like the current model will be offered in the C220 CDI, C250CDi and the C180 CGI variants. We also believe that the car will get at least one AMG spec model with a larger engine, wheels and body kit.
We in India are not huge fans of the convertibles and they tend to exist for only very expensive models. However, with Mercedes-Benz pursuing an aggressive launch strategy for the Indian market, we believe that this car will be launched here via the CBU route in limited numbers.
