Mercedes-Benz has launched a facelifted version of the B-Class MPV in India for Rs 27.95 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai). It debuted at the 2014 Paris Motor Show and comprises mostly cosmetic changes both internally and externally. In addition to these the Indian market will now get the B200 CDI in place of the B180 CDI that was offered previously.
External changes to the B-Class include a new grille, LED headlamps and tail lamps. In addition to these, the car also gets an extended list of wheel options allowing the customers to choose between a sporty as well as subtle appearance for their B-Class.
The interior design and feature have been largely carried over from the outgoing model but now includes a revised steering wheel (taken from the C-Class), updated dials, 12 colour ambient light system, reverse camera, armrest with USB interface, sunroof and updates for the COMMAND system as well as a larger screen also. Mercedes-Benz is also offering a Garmin Plug and Play Sat Nav as an optional accessory.
The facelifted B-Class continues with the existing setup which means the petrol unit is the 1.6-litre mill that produces 120bhp and 200Nm of torque. The diesel is a 2.2-litre mill which is now offered in the B200 CDI version where its four cylinder mill produces 136bhp and 300Nm of torque. Both engines are only offered with a seven-speed DCT.
