Ever since the launch of the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, the car has been available in only three colours namely white, red and grey. Now, Merc has added black colour to the palette of the A-Class diesel. This colour won’t be available in the petrol model of the car.
This new colour won’t warrant a price hike for customers opting for it. There are plans to introduce black colour for the petrol version and it might be available in a month’s time.
The A-Class is available in two variants; a A180 CDI Style (diesel) and a A180 Sport Petrol. The diesel variant is powered by a 2.1 litre four cylinder mill and the petrol gets a 1.6-litre four cylinder petrol engine mated to a seven-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox.
The A-Class is doing really well in India, and has sparked of a new premium hatchback segment. Its only competitor is the BMW 1 Series which hasn’t managed to ruffle the A-Class’s feathers. It is unknown if this new colour has been added on customer request, but we are eager to see a black A-Class on the road.
