Mercedes-Benz may have lost out to its German rivals (BMW and Audi) on the global sales chart, but the B-Class has made it proud. Mercedes-Benz took the wraps off the B-Class in 2005 and in a span of eight years the vehicle has clocked the million mark on the sales chart.
The B-class is the second compact vehicle from the Stuttgart based manufacturer. It leads the compact MPV segment in Germany where its sales are the highest followed by a strong demand from China. In India Mercedes launched the B-class in 2012 and much to the amazement of the German manufacturer its yearly sales target were achieved within a few months. The B-Class was launched with a petrol motor in India, and in 2013 a diesel engine made it to the list.
In 2014 the German car maker will include two new models of its successful MPV, B 200 Natural Gas Drive and the B-Class Electric Drive. The B-Class Electric car will have a range of 200 kms, with a generous cabin and seating capacity of five. Mercedes will give a Mild Facelift to the B-Class, as is evident from SPY SHOTS worldwide and it will be available next year.
