- Pavillion to be called Arena of Desire
- Hall No.4 of Bharat Mandapam
Mercedes-Benz has announced its lineup for the Auto Expo 2025. Its pavilion will be called the Arena of Desire and will feature a large host the German automaker's ultra-luxury and AMG models mostly in EV guise.
Concept CLA Class
As the name suggests, it is a design concept for the next-generation CLA Class that will arrive in the market next year. Underpinned by Mercedes’ MMA architecture, it is around 4.6 meters long and riding on 21-inch wheels. The concept car has very smooth lines but you can tell that even in production guise it will mostly be this way and have that signature long hood-stubby boot design that’s been a staple of Mercedes for almost a decade now.
Pictures of the cabin reveal a new version of the super screen encompassing almost all of the required buttons and functions. The interiors indicate at a strict four-seat layout but we expect the final version to offer a larger rear bench. No specifications have been revealed but we know that the platform, in addition to an EV, will also produce an ICE sedan, MPV and SUV all expected to carry the ‘A’ tag in their names.
G580 with EQ Technology
This is Mercedes bringing one of its most storied nameplates into the electric era. Dubbed the G580 with EQ Technology, it takes all the essences of the G-Class but now with an electric heart, AWD and a 470km range on a full charge. In addition to all the usual luxuries, one of its main party pieces will be its ability to do tank turns but while also being able to achieve a top-speed of 180kmph and a 0-100kmph time of less than five seconds. Mercedes has already announced that it will launch this G580 on 9 January in India at an event where it will announce its EV and ICE roadmaps for CY 2025. Pre-bookings for the same opened on 9 July 2024.
EQS Maybach SUV 680 ‘Night Series’
Their final ‘big’ exhibit will be the EQS Maybach 680 ‘Night Series’. This is a special edition for the EQS Maybach but will full blacked out elements both on the inside and outside. Think of it as an extra luxury step over the comprehensive package the 680 Maybach offers.
