Mercedes-AMG, the performance division of Mercedes-Benz, will launch the updated CLA45 and GLA45 AMG in India on 7 November. The performance arm has already introduced six new AMG models in the country this calendar year. The facelifted duo would get a minor cosmetic upgrade and additional equipment, while the powertrain will remain the same.
Similar to the update received by the standard variants, the 43AMG spec of the CLA and GLA will have a slightly tweaked fascia. The four-door coupe and the crossover will get a new black paint scheme, redesigned headlamps, a tweaked grille, and newly-designed alloy wheels. On the inside, there will be a slightly refreshed cabin with a new 8.0-inch infotainment screen and a 360-degree camera.
Apart from the update, Mercedes-AMG will also introduce special edition variants of the model. These models will be done under Mercedes-Benz’s Designo personalisation house and are expected to be called the Aero Editions. These limited editions will be available with a high level of personalisation options for the customers according to their individual taste.
Under the hood of both the cars, will be the same 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. The tuned motor produces 379bhp of power and a max torque of 475Nm. The transmission is a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Both the cars will offer the German carmaker’s 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system as standard.
As far as pricing is concerned, the current CLA45 AMG retails at Rs 72.66 lakhs while the GLA45 AMG was available for Rs 77.60 lakhs (both prices ex-showroom Delhi). With the new and updated models, we expect an increase in prices for both the cars.
