Mercedes-Benz recently launched another hot convertible from their AMG range of cars in India. Yes, we are talking about the SLC 43 that was launched at Rs 77.5 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi). The sportscar will cater to the likes of people wanting both, a fast car and the 'sun in their face and wind in their hair' feeling. Check out the pictures of this open-top three-pointed star vehicle.
The SLC is basically the global replacement of the SLK Class. And even if the name has changed according to the company's new nomenclature pattern, the SLC is a mid-life facelift of the SLK.
The Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 gets the brand's new-age design. And since it's an AMG, it gets AMG seats, an AMG steering wheel, sports kit and many features that we see on most AMG cars.
The new SLC 43's fascia sports new dual beam headlamps with LED daytime running lights, a new diamond grille, sporty front bumper with two large air intakes and a retractable roof.
Even if the rear profile hasn't changed much, thanks to its long hood and minimal front and rear overhangs, the car looks like a proper classic roadster.
The new Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 has given up on the SLK 55 AMG's 5.5-litre V8 mill. It now uses a 3.0-litre V6 bi-turbo motor outputting 367bhp of power and 520Nm of torque.
This engine comes mated to 9G-Tronic sports gearbox. Besides the new engine, the vehicle also gets a tweaked suspension and chassis that helps it perform better than the SLK.
The humble sub-500bhp motor might not seem too powerful, but is good enough to help the vehicle sprint from 0-100kmph in just 4.7 seconds. The top speed is limited to 250kmph.
And the SLC 43 isn't just a performance vehicle, but a highly comfortable and feature-loaded car as well. This roadster comes fitted with a revised instrument cluster, revised trim and updated upholstery.
There is a new COMAND infotainment system with a 7-inch display. The interior's appearance is further enhanced by the ambience lighting system (with solar red, polar white or polar blue shades).
The Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 roadster competes with the BMW Z4 and the upcoming Porsche 718 Boxster in our country.
