Mercedes-AMG has been ruling the roost in F1 ever since the turbocharged V6s replaced the V8 engines in 2014. After winning four championships on a trot, the German engine maker is all set to up the game again in 2018.
Mercedes-AMG engineers had already breached the 900bhp mark mid-season last year and Andy Cowell seems pretty confident about seeing four figures as well. The Mercedes M08 EQ Power+ hybrid mill already holds the record for the most efficient racing engine ever when it broke the thermal efficiency barrier of 50 per cent.
With Aston Martin coming in next year and Alfa Romeo also jumping in the ring, F1 2018 might become even more interesting especially after the way Ferrari has fought in 2017.
