Mercedes-Benz has teased their upcoming Porsche 911 rivalling AMG-GT sports car in a video. The car is expected to be launched later this year but is not a direct successor to the SLS-AMG. The video comprises footage of the two-seater sportscar. The German automaker has summed up the car by saying ‘This is what you get when a company unleashes its creative and engineering forces to combine the absolute best of all it has done into a single, monumental, unwavering engineering achievement.’
The interiors of the Mercedes AMG-GT have already been previewed and it shares much of its design with the larger SLS as well as the SLK55 AMG. More details like the feature list and performance elements are expected to be revealed in the run up to the launch.
The German automaker is expected to launch the AMG-GT with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that will produce around 520bhp and 600Nm of torque. Power will be sent to the rear wheels via the 7G Tronic dual clutch transmission. There is expected to also be a Black series car which will be powered by the same engine but with an output of 580bhp.
We expect that they will bring the AMG-GT to India a few months after the launch and will price it in the range of Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 1.8 crore when it comes into the country as CBU.
