Mercedes-Benz is preparing to drop a bomb this Diwali. This cracker comes in the form of the AMG GT S, which has been imported from Germany, to India, this week.
The Mercedes-AMG GT S was unveiled globally earlier this year in the form of a safety car. The new two-door coupe looks smashing and will be offered in black, yellow, two shades of red, silver, grey, white and blue. The sports car is derived from the SLS AMG and borrows most of the styling cues from the larger siblings, the SLS as well as the SLK55 AMG.
The AMG GT gets a front mid-engine layout and is globally available in two states of tune of the engine. The twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine churns out 455bhp of power in the standard version. The GT S, which will be introduced in the Indian market, is tuned to produce 510bhp of power and 650Nm of torque. This mill is Euro 6-compliant and is the latest member of the BlueDIRECT engine family. It claims high levels of performance and efficiency.
This performance car will be the flagship model of the Mercedes-Benz AMG range of cars and sold through the AMG dealerships in our country. It will be brought to India through the CBU route and the German automaker might price it above Rs 2 crore. With the introduction of the Mercedes-Maybach S600 this month, Mercedes-Benz will also launch the AMG GT S in India in a couple of months.
