After last appearing on the roads of Germany in December, the GLC 63 Coupe has now been spied testing around the Mercedes test facility at the Arctic Circle.
Sources reveal that the roaring sound of a high capacity V8 along with the quad exhaust tips was what gave away the identity of the top-of-the-line ‘63’ variant. Though details have not been revealed, the GLC 63 may borrow a retuned version of the 503bhp 4.0-litre V8 bi-turbo that makes 698Nm and powers the C63 S AMG. Expect an AWD 4Matic setup to also make its way to this application.
Furthermore, the camouflaged fascia could mean that the brand intends to use the vertical slat grille like seen on the new AMG GT line-up, along with more aggressive looking bumpers. As seen in the pictures, the brand may also introduce a regular GLC 63 model without the coupe styling.
Going by the state of the GLC test mules, it would be ideal to expect the car to make it to the Frankfurt Motor Show alongside the Mercedes-AMG F1-engined Project One.
