Mercedes-Benz India has announced its final launch for the calendar year 2024. Slated to be the 14th launch from the German marquee for 2024, this model, called the C63 AMG S E Performance, will arrive in the country on 12 November.
Unveiled in September 2022, the AMG C63 S E Performance has ditched the traditional 4.0-litre V8 engine for a turbocharged and electrified four-pot motor. This 2.0-litre unit, inspired by the brand’s Formula 1 engine, belts out a combined output of 670bhp and 1020Nm. All this power is sent to all four wheels via the brand’s 4Matic AWD system and the nine-speed automatic transmission.
Also known as the world’s most powerful four-cylinder engine, the model can sprint from 0-100kmph in a mere 3.3 seconds, while the plug-in hybrid motor returns a range of 13km and can be juiced up via the 3.7kW onboard charger. Notably, the electric assist applies to the turbocharger too, thus eliminating any form of turbo lag.
Design highlights of the new C63 AMG S E Performance include aggressively designed front and rear bumpers, signature Panamericana grille, quad-tip exhausts, 20-inch wheels, sporty body kit, and a lowered stance. Inside, the performance sedan is bathed in carbon-fibre along with multiple AMG-specific inserts all around.
