Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team added another feather to their cap by winning the 2015 Formula 1 World Championship this year. To commemorate this success, Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the A45 AMG Petronas 2015 World Champion Edition. Take a look at the details before the car is showcased at the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix soon.
This special edition is derived from the cosmetic makeover of their quickest hatchbacks - the A45 AMG. The car sports the Mercedes F1 team’s silver and turquoise (petrol green) livery.
The stickers are designed in a way to celebrate the team's success at this year’s Formula 1 season. There is an off-set decal in turquoise and black running across the length of the hood with AMG badging.
It sports the 'AMG Performance Racing' badge at the side and a new rear bumper with carbon-fibre inserts. The new 19-inch alloys get a green collar around the edges and a lime green ring at the centre.
The C-Pillar of the hot hatch is painted black and the rear sports a huge spoiler. The tail lamps are carried over from the standard A45 AMG hatchback.
The interior also gets the same treatment as the seats are adorned in leather or fabric with turquoise and silver stitching.
The dashboard features carbon fibre inserts and is detailed in the same colour code. The air-conditioner vents get a turquoise coloured ring according to this paint scheme.
This special edition is powered by the same 2.0-litre four cylinder turbocharged petrol mill from the regular A45 AMG. This unit churns out 381bhp of power and 475Nm of torque.
The underpinnings remain the same with the Haldex based all-wheel drive system. The transmission duty is done by a seven-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox, which also features quick shift tech.
