The second-gen McLaren Super Series model, which will make its public debut on March 7 at the Geneva Motor Show, is poised to push performance envelop further.
Going by McLaren’s recent claim, this new model will be able to accelerate from standstill to 200kmph in just 7.8 seconds. This is all down to the brand’s new 4.0-litre M840T V8 motor which will also allow the car to cover a standing quarter mile in just 10.3 seconds.
The low inertia, twin-scroll turbochargers fitted to the new engine spool up more rapidly than previous iterations. McLaren says they deliver reduced turbo lag and quicker throttle response. More details of the second-gen Super Series model, including engine and performance specifications, will be confirmed on March 7.
