McLaren has been working on a special project called the BP23 and has been holding all its cards close to the heart. All we know till date is that it will be a three-seater, just like the legendary F1, and will be the fastest new-age McLaren.
And thanks to this new teaser, we have got to know that it might be called the Speedtail. Now McLaren has their more powerful editions (mind it they are already fast in their stock avatars) called as Longtail or LT paying homage to the Le Mans competing McLaren F1 Longtail.
So this being the Speedtail, might give us even faster editions of McLarens over the years. Coming back to the Speedtail, it is said that the petrol-electric hybrid powertrain will catapult it way past the F1’s 243mph (391kmph) record. Whether it does it 450kmph or 500 for that matter is not something we would be looking at. Because, being a McLaren, it will be equally fast around corners and that is what will make it a marvel.
With a carbon-fibre construction and a million-dollar price tag, all the 106 examples of the B23 Speedtail have already been sold out. Test-mules of the ‘hyper-GT’ have already been spotted testing around the Nurburgring which means we should be able to see it in all its glory next year of not by the end of this one!
