McLaren may not have been on everybody’s mind as frequent as say Ferrari or Lamborghini but the British marquee ended 2014 with record sales nonetheless. The brand delivered a total of 1,648 vehicles to customers around the world, marking an increase of 21 per cent over 2013.
In addition, McLaren added 14 new showrooms bringing the total global sales network to 68 sites. The brand reportedly recorded growth across all its four regional business units. The Asia-Pacific region saw the biggest rise with sales increasing by 80 per cent over 2013 with the opening of the 11 new outlets across the region helping to fuel this growth.
Meanwhile, North America remained the company’s largest market accounting for more than 30 per cent of overall sales, while sales in both Europe and the Middle East grew year-on-year by 10 per cent and 9 per cent respectively.
Going forward, this year we will see the launch of the new Sports Series which will debut at the New York Auto Show in April. While at the top of its range, the track-only P1 GTR will also enter production once the final road-going P1 has been built.
