McLaren’s 650S replacement model is expected to make its debut next year, in all probability, at the Geneva Motor Show, in March. Internally known as the P14, it will be the first new model in a 15-car line-up that was announced by McLaren in Geneva this year.
This 15-car line-up is due to be completed by 2022. Coming back to the P14, the car will make use of a development of the McLaren’s existing twin-turbo V8 engine. Also visible from the prototype, spied in Spain, are radical active aerodynamics.
The P14 will be based on a variation of the current MonoCell carbon-fibre tub. That said, it will incorporate many of the changes made to improve accessibility in the Sports Series models. The P14 based car will be a lot different from the 650S because it will be conceived to create clear space between it and the Sports Series cars such as the 570S.
