The development programme for McLaren’s most potent model till date has been stepped up over the last few months as the brand has just revealed the arrival date of the new P1 GTR. This new track-only hyper car, in fact, is set to debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in March.
The P1 GTR currently is being put through its paces across Europe and the Middle East, ahead of the start of production later this year.
Through significant weight saving measures and track-optimisation of the petrol-electric powertrain, the P1 GTR boasts a better power-to-weight ratio over the road-going P1, to more than 700bhp per tonne.
McLaren has already made it official that the P1 GTR will go into production in June 2015 when the 375th and final example of the standard P1 has been made. When put on sale exclusively for P1 owners, the hard-core P1 GTR will be the most track-focused vehicle from McLaren till date.
