McLaren’s bespoke vehicles division McLaren Special Operations have launched the Carbon Series LT. Limited to 25 units globally (all already sold), this new creation is based on the 675LT Spider and has been made in response to requests from customers captivated by the carbon fibre bodied P1 displayed recently at the Geneva Motor Show.
As with the 675LT Spider, the front bumper, front under body, side skirts, side intakes, lower side intakes, rear fenders, rear bumper, diffuser and ‘Longtail’ airbrake are all carbon fibre but with a gloss finish revealing the inherent weave of the material.
Additionally, the Carbon Series LT is fitted with a gloss finished carbon fibre electrically retractable roof, A-pillars, bonnet and rear deck and even fuel filler flap. McLaren’s Track Telemetry pack, which includes three track cameras, is fitted as standard equipment.
In total, the Carbon Series LT features around 40 per cent additional carbon fibre parts over the standard car. Under the skin, there’s a 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 powertrain from its Coupe sibling. The power output and torque figures remain unchanged, with 666bhp and 700Nm available between 5,000-6,500rpm.
Production of the Carbon Series LT will begin this autumn in Europe with first deliveries expected before the end of 2016.
