As McLaren and Honda have joined hands for the 2015 Formula 1 World Championship after 22 long years, the terrific duo have revealed their 2015 challenger, the MP4-30. Backed by Honda power and a much less controversial design than before, this new race car will be looking to dominate the 2015 Formula 1 season.
The MP4-30 is fitted with Honda’s 1.6 litre V6 engine, the RA615H. Honda hasn’t revealed much in terms of power output for the 1.6-litre, turbo V6 engine. What is known though is that it will be complemented with two electric motors, one for the KERS recovery system, the other for the turbocharger. We expect the power output to be in line with most other competitors on the grid.
The MP4-30 is an important first step as McLaren and Honda look forward to a strong performance. All eyes are now on the pre-season tests, which will commence in Jerez from 1-4 February.
