McLaren’s fastest production car, the ‘Hyper-GT’ codenamed BP23 has been teased ahead of its public unveiling later this year. The company claims that the upcoming vehicle is quicker than the iconic McLaren F1 and surpasses the 391kmph mark set by its predecessor. The Hyper-GT will be the latest addition to the Ultimate Series and production for the same will commence by the end of next year.
Sadly, all the 106 units of the McLaren BP23 had been allocated even before the car was officially announced in November 2016 at an ex-showroom price of Rs £1.6million (₹ 14.41 crores). The bespoke model will be customised as per individual customer taste by the McLaren Special Operations (MSO). The three-seat McLaren BP23 follows the same layout as the F1 with a central driving position.
Mechanical details remain unannounced for now and the company has only revealed that the upcoming hypercar will get a petrol-electric hybrid powertrain. Moreover, the company will reveal the official name for the new model close to its official unveiling later this year. Complete technical details will be known at the time of its unveiling.
