- McLaren 750LT to feature a more powerful engine
- The model could also be offered in the convertible variant
McLaren has begun testing the hardcore variant of the 720S supercar, which is likely to be christened as the 750LT. Images of the McLaren 750LT reveal that the model will sport exterior updates while a refreshed interior and more powerful engine would be offered as well.
As seen in the spy images, the upcoming McLaren 750LT features a sinister matte black paintjob, larger air intakes and a sharper front splitter. At the rear, the Ferrari 488 Pista rival misses out on the mesh grille between the dual-pipe exhaust as seen on the 720S but is now equipped with a larger active rear wing.
Changes to the interior of the new McLaren 750 LT or Long Tail, if any; remain scarce at the moment. The model though is expected to receive some weight shedding features in the form of carbon fibre racing seats and race harnesses.
Powering the McLaren 750LT would be the same 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 motor. This engine, however, will be tuned to produce power in the range of approximately 740bhp. A few reports suggest that the model will also receive an updated transmission while also being offered in a convertible variant. Â
