Following a couple of official teasers and company insights, the new McLaren 675LT has been leaked onto the web. The mid-engined sports car is to make its public debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show next month.
With the new 675LT, McLaren is reviving the brand’s ‘Longtail’ name previously given to the iconic F1 GTR ‘Longtail’. Among its many driving aids, the 675 will feature what McLaren calls an Active ‘Longtail’ Airbrake which will contribute to as much as 40 per cent increase in overall downforce.
The 675LT will be powered by a heavily revised 3.8-litre twin turbo V8 featuring lightweight components and new turbos. The end result is a total power output of 675PS (666bhp) and torque figure of 700Nm.
The 675LT will be sold only in coupe form and will join the core range of McLaren supercars alongside the existing 650S and the Asia-specific 625C. Further details including the performance figures, will be released with the 675LT’s global debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show next month.
