- 570LT will get around 600bhp of power
- Will cut down on weight for better performance
- Might get a high-mounted redesigned exhaust
McLaren, the British marque, has teased another version of their entry-level sportscar, the 570. From the brief audio-visual, we can certainly say that it sounds more powerful than any of the 570s and we think we might know the reason why.
The car teased by McLaren is most probably the 570 LT. LT is the moniker for the more focused, performance-driven versions of the already fast McLarens, a trend that started with the F1 a couple of decades ago.
The 570LT will bridge the performance difference between the 570S and the 720S with estimated power figures of close to 600bhp from the 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged mill. Being an LT, it will have more carbon-fibre than any other material to keep it as light as possible.
It seems that it might also get the 720-style high-mounted mid-exhaust which will mostly come straight out from the engine. While this is done to reduce weight by using less piping, it also gives the LT a raucous exhaust note – something the McLaren LT buyer would never mind.
It seems like a reveal might just be in the offing, especially when the car looks so complete in the teaser. The price tag? At least Rs 1.8 crores in the UK to begin with.
