- Gets the McLaren Senna-style exhausts
- Will get about 600bhp of power and better aero than the 570 S
McLaren had teased a rear shot of a new product earlier this month and it has been spotted honing its skills at the Mecca of supercar testing – the Nurburgring. We can confirm that it is the same car that was teased thanks to the rear splitter and the top-exiting exhaust pipes.
While some call it 600 LT, the new McLaren is certainly a 570 underneath and will get about 600bhp of power and loads of torque from its twin-turbocharged petrol engine. The redesign of the exhaust in the McLaren Senna fashion will see the car lose at least a couple of kilos and will also get to have a larger rear splitter for better aerodynamics.
The air dam in the front also gets more aggressive and will get a larger front lip to direct air more effectively at high speeds. While there are already quite a bit of low-weight-high-strength materials in the 570, the LT will see much more usage of carbon fibre to shed further weight. With more power and lower weight, the car will be much faster and hence will get an upgraded suspension setup, larger brakes and probably wider wheels to generate more grip.
Well, we will have to wait till the Goodwood Festival of Speed to see the 570LT/600LT in flesh. Thankfully, that isn’t too far away with just a couple of weeks to go!
