Concours d’Elegance at the Pebble Beach is graced with one of beauties from the past as well as the future every year. It seems Mercedes has built a concept to grace the lawns this year. A silhouette of the Maybach 6 Coupe concept has been teased by Mercedes with the description – ‘the hot and cool – almost 6 metres of ultimate luxury’.
It seems that Mercedes is reviving the Maybach brand, not limiting it to the extended or the fully loaded versions of the S-Class. At almost six metres, this might turn out to be the longest production coupe with even the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe measuring a tad over 5.6 metres. For what might turn out to be a befitting revival of Maybach, Mercedes may position the 6 Coupe to compete with the Rolls-Royce Wraith.
The massive hood, the teardrop cabin and the sweeping coupe lines are composed like a melody. It reminds us of the decade old Exelero concept and looking at the length of this car, it might have four seats. The two-door coupe might be based on the extended S-Class chassis and is said to be wider than the S-Class coupe. While there are no details available, we hope it gets a massive custom V12 like the one in the Exelero.
