The Italian marque Maserati has decided to bring the 'Ghibli' back to life for the forthcoming Shanghai Motor Show to be held in the last week of April. The third generation Ghibli will basically be the baby Quattroporte with the performance figures heading northwards. The all-new Maserati Quattroporte focuses on comfort and luxury with a blend of power to compete with the S-class or the 7-series or the A8, while the Ghibli will be built to compete with the likes of the M5, E63AMG or the RS5.
The iconic Ghibli, that competed with the likes of the Ferrari Daytona and Lamborghini Miura in its first avatar, while the new one slated to house twin-turbo V8 mill from the Quattroporte to rival the contemporary sport cars. It will also be available with twin-turbo V6 units in both petrol and diesel guise mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with an option of rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The oil burner for the Ghibli will be a first for the Italian sports car manufacturer. The Ghibli is expected to sharpen the Maserati trident with dynamics that are associated with them over the years.
We are not sure if the car to be displayed at the Shanghai will be production ready, but we can be certain that it will be very close to the real deal. Maseratis are available in India, so rest assured the Ghibli will also be on offer here for those who can afford the tag-price plus the transport and almost the same amount as taxes.
