As you can see in the shots, our spy photographers spotted the Maserati Levante GTS undergoing cold weather testing in northern Europe. This sportier iteration of the Levante is expected to make up for the lack of sales that the regular model has seen of-late.
Despite being masked, one can easily notice the redesigned front bumper that now holds much larger air dams. And that’s a given, since the new model will be powered by the Quattroporte GTS’ 3.8-litre V8 twin-turbo powertrain. Sources however anticipate this motor to be re-tuned to make more power than the current output of 523bhp/710Nm. This is so that the GTS will be in a better position to contend with rivals such as the Porsche Cayenne Turbo and the Range Rover Sport SVR.
Reports also state that the production-ready model may receive a more aggressive rear spoiler, revised chassis/suspension settings and upgraded braking power to match the output of the sportier powertrain. Maserati may debut its Levante GTS next month at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for the details.
