Maserati, as we know, is the maker of some of the finest automobiles in the world. Cars like the Quattroporte, the GranTurismo and the Ghibli are not only striking to look at, but also pleasantly appealing thanks to the sheer sense of exclusivity that can only be found in a Maserati.
Not as much of a mainstream carmaker as some of its rivals, Maserati back in the year 2012, had shared its aim of selling about 50,000 cars a year by 2015. Going by its steady growth of sales in recent months, the brand indeed is looking to make significant steps towards achieving the objectives of its growth plan.
With UK continuing to be one of the leading markets in Europe in terms of sales growth, Maserati has revealed that it has recorded a total of 187 registrations in the first quarter of the year, marking an increase of 115 per cent compared to the same period in 2013. A large part of this growth is courtesy the brand’s newest offering – the Ghibli, which is Maserati’s first ever model to be powered by a diesel engine.
Designed and developed using a shortened version of the Quattroporte’s platform, the Ghibli competes against its premium German rivals namely the BMW 5 -Series, the Mercedes E-Class and the Audi A6.
