A report claims that Maruti Suzuki has registered the brand name Vitara Brezza in India. It is also speculated that its upcoming compact crossover (codenamed YBA) might use this name.
There have been a few spy pictures of the YBA compact crossover and we expect it to be a sub-four metre product like the Ford EcoSport. It might be powered by the 1.2-litre K-Series petrol mill and the 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel engine. A five-speed manual gearbox will transmit the power to front wheels and there is a chance of an automatic variant too.
On the other hand Maruti will launch the S-Cross SX4 which will compete with the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and the upcoming Hyundai ix25. The S-Cross SX4 is powered by a 1.6-litre VVT petrol engine and a 1.6-litre DDiS diesel mill in the international markets.
We expect Maruti to showcase its compact crossover (YBA) at the 2016 Auto Expo and launch it later in the same year.
