- The Vitara Brezza facelift will get updated engines and equipment list.
- Sunroof and side airbags will be available on higher trims.
- It is expected to be launched towards the end of this year.
In March, we reported about Maruti Suzuki working on a facelift for the Vitara Brezza. Now, a new report suggests that the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza facelift is likely to come with sunroof and side airbags on the top-spec models.
Although the report doesn’t mention a possible launch date, we had earlier reported that the Vitara Brezza facelift will be launched in India towards the end of 2019. The compact SUV is expected to feature updates to its front and rear fascia. We can also expect it to get new colour schemes and a few features added to its equipment list.
For the first time since its launch in March 2016, the Vitara Brezza is expected to get a 1.5-litre petrol engine on the facelift version. Additionally, the existing Fiat-sourced 1.3-litre diesel motor will reportedly be replaced by the in-house developed 1.5-litre DDiS 225 diesel motor. It will come mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.
That said, we are skeptical of this move, as Maruti Suzuki recently announced that it will discontinue diesel engines altogether, before the BS-VI deadline comes into effect from 1 April 2020.
