-Second generation Ertiga -new hybrid 1.5-litre petrol engine -Heartect Platform-10 variants and five colours The second generation Maruti Suzuki will be launched in the Indian car market tomorrow. The car will be offered in four diesel and six petrol variants and across five colour options. There’s both diesel and petrol power and in the case of the latter, it is the new 1.5-litre mild hybrid engine that debuted in India with the Ciaz sedan. Bookings for the car have already oepned. Unveiled for the Indonesian market earlier this year, the new Ertiga sees this people carrier expand in dimensions and at the same time incorporate the latest Suzuki design philosophy. This comprises a new face, tail lamp design, wheel design as well as a slightly altered roofline when compared with the outgoing model. Inside, the new Ertiga has picked up design cues from the Dzire and Ciaz thanks to beige and brown interiors. The top-of-the-line variants get a touchscreen infotainment system, climate control, second row vents with fan speed control, 12V socket for the second row and height adjustment for the driver’s seat. The petrol engine is a new one producing 103bhp/138Nm while the diesel is the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel in the DDiS200- 90bhp/200Nm state of tune. A five-speed manual is standard while a four-speed AT is also available for the petrol motor. In terms of pure body style, the Ertiga will take on the Mahindra Marrazo, Renault Lodgy, Honda BR-V and the Mahindra TUV300 Plus. We expect that Maruti Suzuki will add anywhere between Rs 5000-Rs 40,000 to the price of the new car (as compared to the outgoing model) depending on the variant.
