- New Swift prices in India start at Rs. 6.49 lakh
- CNG variant in the works alongside the new Dzire
Maruti Suzuki launched the new-gen Swift in the country in May this year, with prices starting at Rs. 6.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The model recently recorded a sale of more than 35,000 units since its launch less than two months ago.
We have now got our hands on the waiting period of the Maruti Swift. The premium hatchback which rivals the likes of the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and the Tata Punch, commands a waiting period of up to three weeks from the date of booking. It is to be noted that the aforementioned timeline will vary based on multiple details such as the location, choice of variant and colour, and more.
The current generation of the Maruti Swift is powered by a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, Z12E petrol engine paired with a five-speed manual or AMT unit. This motor, which produces 80bhp and 112Nm of torque, is claimed to deliver a mileage of up to 25.75kmpl. Notably, the carmaker is working on the next-gen Dzire and a CNG variant of the Swift, both of which are expected to be launched in the coming months.
