Maruti Suzuki has reported an 85 per cent increase in sales during the month of October. The Indian small car major sold 1, 03, 108 units last month as compared to 55,595 units in the corresponding period last year, when the sales were down due to the labour issue.
The Indian small car major recorded a domestic sale of 96,002 units compared to 51,458 units in October 2011. In terms of exports, MSIL shipped 7,106 units out of the country as against 4,137 units in October 2011 resulting in an increase of 71.77 per cent.
Total passenger car sales in the domestic market rose by 93.75 per cent to 79,811 units from 41,192 in the corresponding period last year. The numbers are expected to go up further with the launch of the new Alto 800 last month.
