Maruti Suzuki plans to sell the upcoming Ignis crossover and the refreshed Ciaz through their Nexa dealerships. Both the vehicles are expected to be unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo next month and will be launched in the due course of the year.
The Nexa dealerships were set up in India in July last year and mainly aimed at selling premium cars from the carmaker's portfolio. The S-Cross was the first car to be offered through the Nexa outlets, followed by the Baleno. Now, the carmaker plans to launch the updated Ciaz and the Ignis through this dealership as well.
Currently, there are close to 100 Nexa dealerships in India and Maruti Suzuki plans to expand this network. In 2015, a total of 40,000 cars were sold through this chain that included 23,000 Balenos and 17,000 units of the S-Cross. Looking at the demand for premium cars picking up, 100 more outlets are planned to be inaugurated over the course of this year. This Nexa network is expected to add to 15-17 per cent of the total sales of Maruti Suzuki.
