The mildly revised Ertiga has been spotted on test several times earlier in a disguised avatar. Another vehicle was sighted but without the camouflage at a location that is speculated to be Maruti Suzuki's stock yard. With this revised model’s launch impending, we can expect it to go on sale next month.
The revamped Ertiga has been slightly revamped to give it a fresh look. The new chrome three-slat grille in place of the current four-slat one, new fog lamp housings with a chrome embellishment above it, are some of the changes at the front that set the new model apart from the one on sale now. The Vdi/Vxi and Zdi/Zxi versions are expected to come equipped with electronically foldable OVRMs. Small changes to the cabin will include new fabric pattern for seats and the push-button start feature that was introduced with the Ciaz and facelifted Swift.
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga facelift will not get any changes to the powertrain and the engine options available now will be continued. The CNG variant will also be continued to be offered. The petrol Ertiga powered by the 1.4-litre engine produces 94bhp of power and 130Nm of torque, and the oil-burner comes powered by the 1.3-litre Multijet engine that churns out 89bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. Both engines come paired to a five-speed manual gearbox.
The revamped model with additional features might cost a little more than the Ertiga on sale at present. But Maruti Suzuki might still price the refreshed model in the range of Rs 5.82 lakh to Rs 8.6 lakh. The Ertiga has been selling in good numbers and ruling the compact MPV segment for quite long now. The restyled model will help the manufacturer put it up against the newly launched Honda Mobilio.
