Maruti Suzuki has, today, released the first design sketch of it’s the all-new premium crossover MPV, the Maruti Suzuki XL6. The sketch reveals the fascia and the rear profile of the XL6.
The premium crossover MPV is targeted towards aspirational urban buyers who desire for a lifestyle vehicle with a high-level of practicality. Although based on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, the XL6 will sport a new front-end that includes an all-new grille, redesigned LED headlamps with DRLs and a re-profiled front bumper.
It will also feature body cladding all-around, faux skid-plates at the front and back, and roof rails. The rear is, more or less, similar to the Ertiga. Notable changes include full-LED headlamps and a redesigned bumper. On the inside, the Maruti Suzuki XL6 will feature individual captain seats in the second row.
The XL6 will be positioned as a premium alternative to the Ertiga and will compete against the Mahindra Marazzo. At launch, we expect it to be offered with a lone 1.5-litre K15B four-cylinder petrol motor that will come mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. A four-speed torque converter automatic transmission will be carried over from the Ertiga.
It will reportedly be offered in two higher-spec variants – Zeta and Alpha. We expect it to be priced between Rs 9.50-10.50 lakhs (ex-showroom). The Maruti Suzuki XL6 will retail via the NEXA dealerships across the country.
