The current Maruti Suzuki Swift has been in the market for over three years without any updates whatsoever. Naturally then, once can expect an updated model from Maruti to arrive soon to rejuvenate the brand’s hot seller.
Shown first in July last year, the updated Swift is already on sale in Japanese and European markets. The car gets minor design updates in the form of a revised front bumper which now features L-shaped LEDs. As for the rear, the only bit of update comes in the form of a high mounted LED brake light.
Inside, the new model gets a new seat fabric featuring black as its keynote colour. Going by the interior of the current model, expect the India-spec model to carry similar updates. Under the hood, the updated Swift remains nearly unchanged; which means the car will continue to be powered by the familiar 1.2-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre DDIS diesel engine options. As for the sedan, the same set of updates will be carried over to the Swift Dzire.
