The variants for the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza have been revealed ahead of its official debut at the 2016 Auto Expo. The six variants are LDi, LDi (o), VDi, VDi (o), ZDi, ZDi (+) where the (o) is an optional variant which gets the safety package. However, an airbag for the driver willbe standard across the range.
The documents reveal that the Vitara Brezza will only be offered as a diesel across six variants. The engine is expected to be the 1.3-litre Multijet mill that produces 75bhp/190Nm and is mated to a five-speed manual.
The LDi variant will get twin pod headlamps, steel wheels and body cladding which the company has believed to have termed as an SUV-body kit. The cabin will get front power windows, AC, tilt adjust for the steering, speed sensitive door locks, music system with Bluetooth, dead pedal and day/night mirror. The optional variant gets a front seatbelt pretensioner, passenger airbag and ABS with EBD.
Moving ahead, the VDi variant gets blacked out pillars, black skid plates on the front and rear, roof rails, wheel covers and body-coloured door handles. Inside, the VDi variant gets keyless entry, gearshift indicator, all four power windows, passenger side vanity mirror, rear headrests fabric trim on the doors, security alarm and electromagnetic tailgate. The additional safety features on the optional variant include a passenger airbag and ABS with EBD.
The tops-spec ZDi variant comes fully loaded with a whole host of features. External additions include alloy wheels, projectors with LED DRLs, fog lamps, chrome grille, silver skid plates. The cabin gets climate control, split rear seats, height adjustment for the driver, chrome door handles and a 12V socket in the boot.
The ZDi (+) variant gets rain sensing wipers, electrically folding ORVMs with integrated indicators, button start, touchscreen infotainment system with reverse camera, cooled glovebox, cruise control, front armrest and dual tone body paint.
It will be a sub-four-metre SUV and will compete with the likes of the Ford EcoSport and the Mahindra TUV300. We expect that it will be priced in the range of Rs 6 lakh to Rs 8.5 lakh.
