Following its grand debut at the next month’s Auto Expo 2016, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza will hit the showrooms across the country. This new model’s reach, however, won’t be restricted to the Indian market as Maruti Suzuki has some big plans to sell it globally as well.
In a report by the Economic Times, Executive Director for Engineering CV Raman has revealed the Vitara Brezza has been engineered for global markets and will be exported to certain South Asian markets. The Vitara Brezza, as we know, is the first vehicle to have been fully developed by Maruti Suzuki’s Indian R&D arm. The development work on the Vitara Brezza started back in 2012 and went on for about three and a half years.
The Vitara Brezza is expected to be priced between Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh and will compete with the likes of the Ford EcoSport and Mahindra TUV300. At the Auto Expo, it will be joined by the Baleno RS with the 1-litre turbocharged engine, the Ignis small car and Maruti’s existing range including the S-Cross and the Ciaz.
