Maruti Suzuki will launch the latest addition to their SUV portfolio, the Vitara Brezza, in India tomorrow. The sub-four-metre SUV will take on its main rival, the Ford EcoSport and the Mahindra TUV300.
The compact crossover looks like a proper SUV with the high bonnet and fairly square shape, styled on the lines of the Suzuki Vitara. It will be offered with six colour options and three combinations with a contrast roof colour. The bash plates in the front and the back with 195mm ground clearance and 16 inch alloy wheels make it look butch. It gets projector headlamps with LED DRLs and fog lamps for the ZDi and ZDi+ and the roof mounted rear spoiler is standard.
The interior is almost all black. The top spec car gets chrome interior door handles, climate control and steering mounted audio controls. The music system is from the Baleno and has Bluetooth and USB connectivity along with AUX input. The instrument cluster gets a tachometer and a multi-information display reading out average fuel economy, distance to empty two electronic trip meters and the fuel indicator.
The Vitara Brezza will be offered in diesel only with the 1.3-litre turbocharged diesel mill from the Ciaz which develops 89bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. The engine will be mated to a five-speed manual gearbox powering the front wheels. ABS-EBD is being offered as an option right from the base variant.
The Vitara Brezza is expected to undercut the Ford EcoSport diesel and may be priced between Rs 7.5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh while the top spec car is expected to go beyond Rs 10 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi.
