The Vitara Brezza, Maruti Suzuki’s new compact SUV, was launched in India a couple of days ago. The vehicle is cruising towards an order of 2,600 units already.
Though, Maruti Suzuki officially opened the bookings two days ago, many dealers had already started accepting bookings for the car. So we can expect the number of bookings to soar further in some time. This might then also become the fastest rate of bookings by an Indian car in recent times. It was only last year that the launch of the Creta garnered an overwhelming response for Hyundai.
The SUV segment in India has significantly grown in terms of sales in recent times. With the rise in the demand for such cars, the trend is only expected to strengthen further this financial year. The Hyundai Creta, Ford EcoSport and the Renault Duster have already touched the sales mark of 1,00,000 units. Maruti Suzuki plans to breach this landmark within no time and become the clear segment leader with the new Vitara Brezza.
The carmaker has high expectations from the Vitara Brezza, which is their first ever product fully developed by Maruti Suzuki engineers. The company is prepared for the huge demand for the vehicle and recently also ramped up their production to one lakh units a year from 80,000 units per annum. With such measures already taken by the manufacturer, we can hope that the waiting period for the car doesn't extend for a buyer.
