Maruti Suzuki to upgrade its Alto

Maruti Suzuki plans to upgrade its existing Alto model. In 2010, the new cars manufactured for the 11 major Indian cities will have to pass the BS IV pollution norm.

Maruti Suzuki could use its KB series engine. The Alto power KB series might produce lesser horsepower compared to the A-Star. Maruti Suzuki MD & CEO S Nakanishi said, “We have exhausted our quota of new cars with eight new launches in India in the past three years. Now we are looking at strengthening our leadership by refreshing our old portfolio.”
