Maruti Nexa is rolling out a compensation plan for the early bird buyers of the 1.6-litre engined S-Cross. The Indo-Japanese automaker had slashed prices of the DDiS320 variants by up to Rs 2 lakh in January in a bid to boost flagging sales. Now in a goodwill gesture, the automaker is compensating early bird buyers with various deals and offers.
The company has not officially issued any statement in this regard and is contacting individual buyers. It is believed to be offering financial compensation, insurance and maintenance packages as well as extended warranties. There is currently no word on whether early bird buyers of the DDi200 (1.3-litre) will also be compensated in the same way.
The automaker had initially launched the S-Cross in August 2015 with a starting price of Rs 8.34 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the DDiS200 variants and Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the DDiS320 variants. It then slashed the prices of the DDiS200 variants by up to Rs 84,000 and the DDiS320 by up to Rs 2 lakh.
