The launch of the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire has been scheduled for May 2017. Along with this announcement Maruti has also officially teased an image of the 2017 Dzire to give us a glimpse of what it will look like.
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is one of the highest selling sedans in the country by a wide margin and speculations regarding this car have been done to death. But this teased silhouette gives us a fair idea of what the new 2017 Maruti Suzuki Dzire will look like.
The teaser image shows LED daytime running lamps embedded in the headlamp itself and light guides in the tail lamps for that upmarket feel. The flared wheel arches and a squatty stance have been the hallmark of the Swift-based sub-four metre compact sedan and the new car carries forward the legacy with elan.
The curvy lines complement the wide-body design and the twin-slat eight-spoke alloy wheel design looks charming. On the inside, the Dzire gets its dose of premium with wood panel inserts on the dash as well as door trims. The steering also gets a fair share of wood lining along with steering mounted audio controls for the new touchscreen infotainment system.
Being an all-new car, there are a host of changes except for the tried and tested powertrains. The Dzire will continue to house the 1.2-litre petrol engine that develops 83bhp of power and is known for its peppy nature. The engine comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox and four-speed automatic as well. The highly efficient 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine also continues to pump 74bhp of power and will come mated to a five-speed manual and a five-speed AMT gearbox option.
