Maruti Suzuki has launched the Windsong edition of the Swift for a price of Rs 5.14 lakh. The new model is the revised Swift that was launched last year but comes with many changes to the exterior and interior.
The Swift in its Windsong limited edition doesn't get a major makeover but cosmetic changes that differentiate it from the standard version sold. The new white coloured facelifted version of the Swift gets black stripes on the bonnet, while the A-pillar and the hood are painted in black. The sides are adorned by special decals and the 'Windsong' badging.
The customisation extends to the cabin as well, where new seat covers in golden yellow can be seen. The major update in line with the name of the special edition is the new touch-screen Sony music system with CD/DVD/Bluetooth/USB compatibility. This system is also connected to the rear-view camera with parking sensors. The other changes inside the cabin include a new steering cover, illuminated sill plates, PVC floor mats and foot-well lighting.
There are no mechanical changes to the Windsong edition of the Swift and it still comes powered by the 85bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine and 74bhp 1.3-litre Multijet diesel mill. Both the engine options come mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift Windsong edition was first unveiled at the WindSong Music Festival last year. The car displayed then came with an oversized headset fitted on the rear of the car. The music festival is still going on in our country and the company has rightly aligned the launch of this special edition with the event. Supposedly only 100 units of this car will be sold, so go book one quickly if you've liked it.
