The last part of our B-segment hatchback comparison will cover the boot space of three popular cars on our list – Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and the Ford Figo. As a family car, the boot space also influences the buying decision as it determines the amount of luggage that can be carried for a holiday trip. Based on the boot space measurements of all three cars, the Maruti Suzuki Swift has the largest boot space of 268-litres, followed by the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios which offers 260-litres of boot space. The Ford Figo has the smallest boot space of 257-litres.
That said, all three cars have their own set of advantages with varying length, width and height figures. In terms of length the Maruti Suzuki Swift is better equipped to accommodate luggage that is longer in length, up to 62cms to be precise. The Grand i10 Nios has the widest boot space of 104cms that comfortably accommodates the additional sling bag which you might need during your trips. The boot space in the Ford Figo has the best height at 55cms, thereby offering more room for luggage that needs to be placed vertically.
In terms of convenience of placing the luggage in the boot, the Swift wins the competition with a comparatively better lip loading height and lid loading height of 75cms and 200cms, respectively. The Grand i10 Nios comes close to the Swift with a lip loading height of 74cms but offers the least lid loading height of 192cms. On the other hand, the Ford Figo has least lip loading height of 71cms, while it has a modest lid loading height of 193cms. The three cars on our list have their own unique characteristics and the customer can zero down on one of them depending on individual preferences.
