The Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire facelift has been spotted up close and without any camouflage. The car features significant number of external changes as well as some additional features, which if we are to go by Maruti Suzuki’s feature list policy, will be exactly that of the recently launched Swift facelift.
The external changes include chrome garnish for the fog lamps, blacked out head lamps and most importantly a new chrome grille that is very similar to one on the Alto K10, indicating that this maybe the trend for future models. The side and rear profile remain the same as the outgoing model but the design of the alloy wheels and wheel covers have changed and are more in line with the facelifted Swift’s wheels.
On the interior front, the facelifted Dzire is expected to get all the additions from the facelifted Swift. This list includes push- start button, electric retractable wing mirrors with turn indicators, premium upholstery, reverse parking sensor and speed-sensing audio system with Bluetooth connectivity.
The diesel model is powered by a 1248cc, DDiS diesel engine developing 75bhp of power and 190Nm of torque. The petrol variant gets an 1197cc, K series VVT engine that delivers a power of 84bhp of power and 115Nm of torque. Both engines have been mated to a five-speed manual with the latter also getting the option of a four-speed AT. We expect that the increase in fuel efficiency of the petrol engine seen in the facelifted Swift will also be carried over to the Dzire. We also believe that there will be at least one AMT version of the Dzire by the middle of next year.
We expect that the facelifted Dzire will priced in the range of Rs 4.90 lakh to Rs 7.5 lakh. It competes in the very hotly contested compact sedan segment which features vehicles like the Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent and the Tata Zest.
