Maruti Suzuki had launched a special edition of their popular hatchback, the Swift, when it seemed to have lost a bit of steam in terms of sales. Called the DLX, it was based on the base LXi trim and had more features to attract buyers. The DLX has just been updated and now gets the driver airbag as standard and has been launched at a price tag of Rs. 4.8 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
At this price, the Swift DLX is priced exactly the same as the Swift LXi. Despite being priced at par with the base trim, the DLX gets all-four power windows and central locking. It also gets a 2-DIN music system with Bluetooth connectivity, USB and AUX-in options along with front speakers. Power steering and manual AC are standard along with manual anti-glare rear view mirror.
On the outside, the DLX gets round fog lamps, blacked out B-pillar, wheel covers and body coloured door handles and ORVMs. Under the hood, it has the 1.2-litre four cylinder petrol engine that develops 84bhp of power and is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox which drives the front wheels.
The Swift is Maruti’s entry-level B-segment hatchback and competes with the Hyundai Grand i10, Tata Bolt, Ford Figo and Nissan Micra.
